There is no strict rule in hanging oil paintings, but there are some rules to taken care.

Rule one oil painting should be hanged according to the height of the room; especially adjust it according to the light of the room since oil painting is extremely easy to reflect light if facing the pure illuminant directly.

Rule two it is better to hang oil paintings 1.5m to 1.8m high above the ground. It is not good to protect or appreciate the painting if it is hanged too low. Neither is good if hanged too high.

Rule three you should consider about the distance between paintings if more than one is hanged. The distance should be the same for paintings of the same size. For paintings of different sizes, the bottom of each should be of the same height.

Rule four oil painting should not be put into glass frame. Although glass is good for protection, it reflects light more easily, and the rope should not be seen while the painting is hanged.
